Perfect Single Shot Development in Olympic Pistol Shooting Class with Ruslan. July 22, 2014

“I took course from Ruslan on basic pistol shooting.
I am very pleased with what I got out of it.
I was in the army and was trained as a tank shooter.
I shoot very well from all type of weapons available to the tank unit except pistol.
I was horrible pistol shooter. I rarely hit anything above 8 from 21 feet from pistol at my time in military. This was changed after Ruslan class. I am capable to hit 10th from 50ft after 3 classes even I did not shot anything for more then 27 years.
I also like that Ruslan has variety of guns to choose for training. He gives you ability to test different type of guns for free. Ruslan gives expert explanation on the different features available to the guns and you can test, see and feel these difference to yourself during his class. He also assist you in buying the gun and his advise was much better, more informal and beneficial to me than conversation with sales person.
I highly recommend his class and training.”

Ruslan,
Thanks again for the excellent class time for Olympic pistol basics.  Prior to attending your class, I had read as many books and web postings as possible and thought I had a “fair” understanding of the basics of Olympic pistol shooting.  I was wrong!  There simply is no substitute for face-to-face instruction and critique.  Your explanation of the basic (but extremely important) foundations of Olympic free and air pistol shooting were excellent and all made perfect sense.  There were many excellent and logical concepts that you introduced that were never discussed in any printed material that I read.  You’re an excellent instructor and coach.  I’m looking forward to a 560 in the not-to-distant future!!  I would highly recommend your class to anyone interested in pistol shooting.

Thanks again,”

At this point, I came to the level of my performance where I can buy a few points by investing some money in technology in order to benefit my score performance. Finally, after one year of involvement in PPC, (Police Pistol Competition) I decided to acquire a more advanced model of equipment, such as a new competition pistol.

Many athletes should use self reward as an effective tool toward achieving your highest goals. In controversy, we have a slightly different picture when someone is interested in sports and activities; he is buying the most advanced and expensive equipment instead of taking time and patience to learn the game by investing in education through classes in this subject. As time comes by, athletes are looking for ideas to enhance their performance. Sometimes, extra money is not available to them and the most advanced tool is not making any difference in their low score performance. A lesson should be learned.

Let‘s talk about Competitive Olympic style target shooting.  Earlier I mentioned it as an equipment heavy activity. You need to invest around $4,000 to $7,000 in a few Olympic Competitive grade pistols, such as a CA Air pistol, a FREE Pistol, and a Standard Pistol around $2,000 each. No special classes are required. In common knowledge, you can compete as much as possible as long as it is FUN. This is the most common problem in the road of achievement the highest performance in Olympic style target shooting. A lack of structural and initial knowledge of the technical performance, too much attention on the technical part of the equipment, a very low level of problematic areas of the performance, too much motivational BS, and encouragement to buy “stuff” instead learning the structure of performance for people who just start looking in this direction in competitive performance.

First of all, from my point of view, a very low performance level in AP is 540-550 and below 540 in FP which is far from the description of “FUN”. As much as I remember myself during this short period of time to be at this level, it was most frustrating and unpleasant experience in my entire competitive career, simply because there were multiple issues interrupting the process. It takes time and a knowledgeable solution with an experienced mentor or coach who can work with you and help you to create a successful plan to overcome this level ASAP.  After you will be able to control your performance at the level above AP 565 & FP540, you will start to appreciate the game, your time, and the importance of the initial investment in your own equipment and education.  Otherwise, your money spent in Olympic style target shooting equipment serves as a simple conversational piece or collectable value.

In the light description of “FUN” in target shooting, I recommend you to try PPC Clubs (Police Pistol Combat Competitions) and events across the USA. This is what can be described as real “FUN” in the Target shooting.

Our SCUBA Dive in Paradise Reef Cozumel Mexico, December 2013

Diving in the Paradise Reef

Diving in the Paradise Reef

How much do we pay for our dream vacations on average?

Well, on average we pay $3K to $4K for one week up to 10 days.  During our last trip to Cozumel, Mexico in December 2013, we met a couple of fellow Scuba divers who shared a boat trip with us for diving in the Paradise Reef. During our conversation, they told us that they already completed over 80 SCUBA dives in various sites around the world over the last four years. Simple calculation shows that they have invested around $16K in their hobby without counting equipment, only dives. On a monthly basis, the expense will be $333.30.  What I would like to point your attention to is that this is only one example from many other individuals who did over 1,000 dives in our hotel.  The point is that your hobby will cost you something. And we will pay by committing to our goal in one way or another.

I am surprised that many Olympic style competitive target shooting athletes are so reluctant to understand the simple truth. The competitive subject of Olympic Style target shooting performance must be handled by professionals who understand psychology and a deep knowledge of perfect single shot development. If you do not have sources to financially support your dream, it is better to do bowling since it is less stressful and inexpensive.

I am working to my plan of a next SCUBA dive at Key West, Florida on the shipwreck Athocha (1622 Spanish galleon)   in 2014.

What is your plan for 2014?

Five Common Things in Wet Shaving and Free Pistol Taget Shooting

Five Common Things in Wet Shaving and Free Pistol Taget Shooting.

Is it a strange comparison between wet shaving and Free pistol target shooting?

First, if we take the first part of each comparisons group, there will be nothing special between everyday shaving and competitive target shooting. Many people are competing and almost everyone knows how to shave.  But for some specific reason, Free pistol competition and practice is kind of an art by itself.

It is not very popular in our days, but it is a challenging endeavor. Moreover, it is fun and provides high satisfaction if you understand what you are doing. For the same reason, I can allow myself to find some similarities between both human activities. Since I have been practicing Free pistol shooting from the age of when I started to shave, this makes me think about how a simple and necessary routine becomes an absolutely enjoyable thing. At this point, I am talking about Free pistol Performance and Wet shaving. If you for some reason do not have enjoyment from both activities, you probably have to go to the stage where you can learn new things about your hobby in order to make it more fun from your initial investment in hardware.

During my class, we will discuss five vital elements which can separate regular shaving from wet shaving. The same steps can be totally accepted during Free Pistol practice.

As a bonus to my class, I will provide FREE Bikram yoga classes in local yoga studio & Free initial performance analysis.
